The Plaza del Potro is one of the most representative of the city. In the center itself is a source whose finishing move is the figure of a colt who raises his hands holding a banner with the emblem of the city. This Renaissance-style fountain dates from 1577, and the colt that is topped with gives its name to the square. Until 1847 was located on the opposite side of the square now occupied.
It is also in this square the famous Posada del Potro, mentioned by Cervantes in El QuijoteIn addition to the local Fine Arts Museum and the Museum of Julio Romero de Torres.
